NILEG (Norddeutsche Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft) was founded in 1922. As a subsidiary of NORD/LB it was responsible for the management of NORD/LB's residential portfolio in Northern Germany. In 2005, Fortress Investment Group LLC acquired all shares in NILEG from NORD/LB in a structured tendering procedure for c. 1.5 billion Euros.
